NOAC Final Post

We were up early with the intention of hitting the road to Kennywood early. By 7:00 a.m. At the latest! Well at 7, the cars were packed and the youth were – gone!

They all went to breakfast, which left us with two logical options – we could leave them in Michigan or join them at breakfast.

Well, what did we do? We waited at the car.

After a long drive to Pittsburgh, the youth decided they didn’t want to go to Kennywood after all. So we took a tour of the area and visited a blue slide in a park that seemed to make a couple of people very happy and other very confused.

We drove east from Pittsburgh to close to Bedford PA and found a hotel with a pool. We all went to a nice Ruby Tuesday dinner and back for a swim.

We made sure our hotel had a safe for Bob to store his Doctor Who patches.

Ruby Tuesday has bottomless soft drinks, the competition for most consumed started and was won be James who drank 16 strawberry lemonades.

Pat Machado’s 5K in his sleep last night won him an Olympic Gold! Wow, he didn’t even need to go to London.

Miss Michigan has filed a restraining order against John Ekartz. Something to do with 18 proposals.

Has anyone seen our Mumzees?

Finally, if you are sitting at home reading this, you are not in the right place. The NOAC trip is a fantastic experience for brothers young and old. Make sure you are there in 2015.

NOACDay 8

Most of the youth waited in line to meet Miss Michigan. John had her sign his shirt, which needed to be washed. Now the dilemma – wash and clean or stinky memories.

Bob has completed his bachelors in Indian Affairs in one week. He is planning to come back in three years for his Masters.

For anyone needing an ice sculpture, you should know that Bob has a chain saw ready to serve your needs.

Founders Day! Lots of give aways. Lots of fun. Despite some brutal heat in an open field, everyone made the most of it. Our NOAC cards were a big hit! We gave away every last one of them.

Kyle and Andrew went to the Ice Cream store on campus. The best they have ever had.

The parking lots have been full of Indian Dancers since last night. The dorm room windows are the best view.

David put a bunch of flowers in liquid nitrogen and had a shattering flower fight with an Arrowman from Oklahoma.

Patrick and James are enjoying the Eagle Scout dinner. They were the only ones lucky enough to get in, every one else was wait listed.

The Amangomat – Wipit Lodge from D.C. Is looking to trade us for Bruce Cobern. They are offering us jurisdiction over the entire Congress. Should we make the trade?

John Ecartz is Fred from Nickelodeon

Gene Berman is on shower number 8 today.

Last night for patch trading! Off to Pittsburgh early tomorrow and Kennywood amusement park.

Final update tomorrow.

NOAC Day 7

After ten attempts, Gene finally got the giant moth that has been eating his patches.

The Section gathering was a lot of fun. We all got to meet, many for the first time, our brothers from around the section. Thanks to Pat McDoughal for coordinating the event.

Andrew was able to fish his patch out of the radiator with a little help from Kyle.

The fastest time for the 5K this morning was Pat Machado who broke the world record while running the race in his sleep at 6:00 am. All competitors slept through the starting gun.

Congratulations to Bob who just completed his 100th class – How to replicate Indian Wear of SouthWestern Oklahoma using Egg Shells.

Also congratulations to Daniel, Antun, Kevin, Anthony and David for placing 4th nationally in the Fancy Dance team competition. They hadn’t actually entered but were waiting on line for the bathroom while the judging took place.

Thank you Maria P. for your care package.

If anyone sees Dennis, tell him his room misses him.

Bruce Cobern has finally started to make an impact on MSU’s diet coke supply. My lunch time drink was actually colored seltzer.

Patch trading is building to a feeding frenzy.

Kevin has decided to put away all his collected patches and re-collect them. Why would an otherwise stable young man do this? Since he already has all the ones he wants, he want to see if he can do it again.

There is a large wet paint sign on an orange wall in the elevator lobby of our dorm. There are at least 20 people I have seen with orange fingertips. And 1 with an orange nose!

The OA Adventure Crew expo was a good
Time with lots of give aways.

Andrew scored the highest in his round of OA jeopardy – Negative 2700! And won a prize for his efforts.

Tonight is the Hodag and more patch trading.

Until tomorrow.
